Week 32

I DID IT!!! 50 POUNDS GONE!!!!!!!!!
After 7 months of hard work I'm finally to my goal! First I have to say a huge thank you to Titus for being willing to work 10 hour days and then come home and watch the kids every night so I could get to the gym. He was a huge part of my weight loss and I cannot thank him enough for all of the encouragement.
Next I want to thank all of you who have been following my blog and sending me messages of advice and encouragement. When I first started this process I said I needed all of you to keep me accountable and you did so THANK YOU so much!
It was really awesome to hear from those of you who said that my journey was a help to you in your own weight loss. I feel privileged to have been part of your journey.
Many have asked how I lost the weight and I could go on and on about counting calories and exercising but really it boils down to one thing, determination. I was absolutely determined to lose the weight and I never lost sight of that. Even on my bad days or the days the scale went up instead of down, I stayed strong and bounced back. No one can want to lose the weight for you, you have to do it for yourself! I will say that is takes some serious changes in lifestyle. Before this I had never been to a gym, I had never counted calories or paid so close attention to every single thing I was put in my mouth. I had to change my thinking about food completely which often meant sacrificing a fun snack or a meal out for a better choice. That was very hard for me because I love food, including bad food but you can't do well one day and then go off the deep end the next and expect success. It was a consistent change in thinking which after a while become more of a habit.
Now that I’m here I have to say all the sacrifices were worth it! I feel like my old self again. Getting dressed and going shopping has never been so fun. As a women I know I will never completely be satisfied with my body, but being on this journey has given me a huge sense of self awareness of how my body works and what is best for me. That in itself is a wonderful gift!
